Yoga

Beginners´ Hatha Yoga with Mariana in Marbella: Improve your strength, flexibility and balance with regular practice of Hatha yoga. This is a form of yoga, meaning “dis-cipline of force” in Sanskrit, that involves holding specific body postures, called asanas, to work on muscle strength and to connect your mind and body. Research has shown that it has been linked to mental and physical health benefits such as stress management and stronger core muscles. Core muscles are important for overall body function and strengthening these can help prevent lower back pain, improve your balance, and make you less likely to sustain muscle injuries. Great for those who can´t do higher intensity exercises such as running or weight lifting, you´ll learn body postures, breathing techniques and relaxation and meditation. Hatha Yoga has also been found to improve de-pression symptoms because it acts on the neurotransmitters in our brain, in a similar way to antidepressants.

Intermediate Hatha and Vinyasa Yoga with Mariana in Marbella: In addition to working through Hatha Yoga positions and practice at an intermediate level, this group will also work through Vinyasa Yoga techniques. Vinyasa Yoga is characterised by stringing postures together so that you move from one to another, seamlessly, using breathing techniques. Commonly referred to as “flow” yoga, it recognises the temporary nature of things. We enter into a posture, are there for a while, and then leave. In Sanskrit, Vinyasa comes from the prefix “vi”, which means variation, and a suffix, nyasa, which means “within prescribed parameters”. Steadiness, comfort and smooth, long breathing are characteristics.

Mariana Macri has been practicing yoga for more than 20 years and recently achieved the Diploma of Yoga Instructor in Yoga Jiva Daya Academy that belongs to the Sivananda Yoga International School.
